Dear Nursing Professional,
Thank you for your interest in employment opportunities with Gwinnett Medical Center. At this time we are not accepting additional applications for our next GMC Nurse Residency program scheduled to begin in August. We will offer another Nurse Residency Program beginning Monday March 10, 2009. We expect new positions to post and Clinical Managers to tentatively interview beginning November '08 through February '09. Afterwards, the next diadactic program will begin August 2009. Programs are offered twice each year in March and August.
The Nurse Residency provides new graduates, experienced nurses seeking to change their specialty or those who have not practiced bedside in more than three years with weekly education days and a structured clinical experience with a qualified preceptor. Current Georgia RN licensure required prior to the start of program. Select participants may begin working on the unit as a ptient care tech prior to obtaining Georgia RN licensure.
If selected, you would work fulltime hours (32 to 40) and spend at least two days per week in the classroom and the remainder of assigned hours with your preceptor(s) in the patient care area. You are paid for classroom and clinical time. The RN Residency training period last from 3 to 6 months, depending on the specialty of choice. The RN Resident (Medical Surgical) is obligated to a twelve-month work commitment after the training period. All other departments require an eighteen-month work commitment.
Opportunities include Intensive Care, Emergency, Medical Surgical, Women’s Services, Perioperative Services and more.
